SRIMODBHAGAVAD GITA
Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya
Om Sri Paramatman Namah
HIGH YOGA YOGA (XV)
Summary of Fifteenth Speech:
The talk is entitled "Purushottama Yoga" or "Yoga for the Supreme Man". Here Lord Krishna tells us about the ultimate source of this visible realm from which all things came, such as a large tree with all its roots, stem, branches, shoots, leaves, flowers and fruits from the earth, which itself supports the tree and where it is rooted. Sri Krishna declares that the Supreme Being is the source of all that exists, and he figuratively refers to this earth as a transformed tree with roots in Para Brahman, and its spreading branches and leaves form all the elements and elements that will form this dynamic creation. This mysterious "tree", the most difficult to comprehend, is the product of His mysterious Maya power; hence the amazing, visible appearance without real reality. Someone who fully understands the nature of this Samsara tree — surpasses Maya. Sticking to it should be caught in it. The surest way to get past this Samsara or earthly life is by using the best weapon of exertion and inconsistency.
In verses four and five of this statement the Lord tells us how one goes beyond the visible Samson and attains a high, incorruptible position, reaching what is not necessary to return to this mortal world of pain and death.
Lord Krishna also explains to us the mysterious secret of His Presence in this universe and the lofty abode in which He sustains everything here. The Lord declares that it is His part that is manifested here as the soul in each body. He himself is Oversoul living above him. He is the light from the sun, the moon and the fire. It exists as a nourishing element in the world. He is the inner witness of all creatures. He is even higher than the Vedic knowledge. He is the glorious person who is above all this wonderful creation and the corruption of the individual soul that is part of His eternal essence. Therefore, because He transcends decay and is higher than the immortal soul (covered by the Maya), He is known in this world and in the Vedas as the Supreme Being.
