YOGA MAKING-lll

Summary of the Third Speech:

In order to remove the Moha or attachment, which was the only cause of Arjuna's deception, Sri Krishna taught him the infallible nature of Atman, which would have given him Eternal freedom. So doubts arise in Arjuna's mind about the need to get involved even if we are in this situation.

Sri Krishna dispels this suspicion by telling him that although one has seen unity with Eternity, one should take action by the power of Prakriti or Nature. He emphasizes that perfection is obtained, not by abstaining from participating in acts, but by performing all actions as a divine sacrifice, full of a spirit of self-sacrifice and self-sacrifice.

The man of God’s vision, Sri Krishna explains to Arjuna, does not need to participate in the actions, as he has achieved all that is to be achieved. He can always enter into a calm and consistent Person. But the act of benefiting the earth and teaching the masses is undoubtedly superior. Therefore, action is needed not only for one who has attained perfection but also for one who strives for perfection. Sri Krishna cites the example of Janaka, a brilliant monarch of India who continued to rule his empire after gaining divine insight.

Prakritite or Nature is made up of three attributes - Rajas, Tamas and Sattwa. Atman is superior to these three attributes and their functions. It is only when the knowledge of this truth comes to man that he attains perfection.

The Lord tells Arjuna that each one should do his own work according to his own nature, and that doing work that suits man's nature in the proper spirit of the group will lead to perfection.

Arjuna raises the question of why a person commits these acts that disturb his mind and drag him down, with force. Sri Krishna responds by saying that it is a desire that motivates a person to lose his prejudice and understanding, and then to commit wrong acts. Covetousness is the root of all evil. If the desire is removed, then the higher power is manifested in its full glory and man enjoys peace, happiness, light and freedom.
